Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a set of standards under development by the Time-Sensitive Networking task group of the IEEE 802.1 working group. The standards define mechanisms for the time-sensitive transmission of data over Ethernet networks. Presently, the development of IEEE standards for deterministic Ethernet, growing adoption of industrial IoT and industry 4.0 solutions, and increasing need for real-time networking for various applications drives the time-sensitive networking market.
