Downdraft tables are also known as downdraught benches. These are worktables with built-in ventilation to capture smoke, dust, and fumes and remove them from the working material or environment. These tables typically comprise a perforated surface whose base is connected to a dust collection system or ventilation, for drawing material through the holes and pulling them away from the working environment. These are portable filtration systems and self-contained which removes harmful particulates and provide filtered air. Downdraft tables are also referred to as indoor air quality devices which draw-down air and does not need external ventilation. These tables are utilized as workstation dust collectors to collect smoke, fume, and other airborne contaminants produced during manufacturing and processing operations such as sanding, welding, grinding, and other finishing applications. They are majorly used to pull dust and fumes away from the breathing zone of workers and other personnel.
